Can penicillin be used to kill a skin rash??

Penicillin would only be helpful in getting rid of a rash that is caused by a bacterial infection. Go see your doctor.|||If you don't know what has caused your rash, you cannot know how to treat it. Penicillin kills bacteria. Your rash may be caused by poison ivy, detergents, an STD, carpet burn, insect bites...you get the idea. If you think the rash is due to an allergy and you're not having anaphylactic symptoms such as wheezing and shortness of breath, an over-the-counter hydrocortisone cream or a diphenhydramine cream (Benadryl) may give you some relief.
