I have a new yorky, she has been with me 2week ,she has like a skin problem ,do you think its rash?

i breed yorkies.....what does it look like? e=mail me some details i have seen it all......i have 6 of them. being in a new house they are nervous and that can cause a rash like and hair loss......let me know|||If you've had her 2 weeks, have you taken her to the vet for a check up yet?

My vet likes to see new pets soon after adoption to get baseline measurements and look them over.

I wouldn't put much stock in answers you get here, you really need to take her to the vet.|||No one on here is going to be able to tell you what kind of skin problem your dog has with out seeing it...even still, it would be just a guess.

Take the dog to the vet and have them check the dog out. If this is a puppy you bought from a breeder, then if the skin problem is anything genetic, or deemed to be something that the puppy had when it was sold to you, then you need to contact the breeder and him/her needs to set things right with you. Any reputable breeder will stand behind their puppies if it has a genetic problem...most breeders guarantee their pups for life.|||vet--- she could have a parasite inside of her so good advice go to a vet and just have her checked|||Take her to the vet it might be something.

My nephew has bad diaper rash to the extent where the skin bleeds help?

I used A %26amp; D not working.|||Triple Paste works wonders. Ask your pharmacist.|||Leave him w/out a diaper, maybe take him out on a blanket in the sun, poor thing needs to "air out a little"|||You might want to call the pediatrician, my son got a real bad rash once and the pediatrician prescribed him an ointment.|||Try to leave his bottom as dry as possible.

Leave it open to the air as often as you can. Even leave the diaper off for a time.

Frequent changes are good too, plain Corn Starch is good for butt rashes too.|||Letting him air out may help but aquaphor helps a lot. It even helps on chapped lips, chafed legs, and more. That should have his diaper rash cleared up within no time at all. My daughter was starting to get red so I put some on her and with the next diaper change there was no red at all. That should help!|||You need to let it air out, keep the diaper off for 15 minutes at a time. It may be messy but that is pretty severe. And do not use wipes, my aunt has raised 4 kids and babysat for years for a living. She says when it is that bad do NOT use wipes run their little butts under a faucet and pat it dry do not rub it. I also think that Vaseline works well. Some of the rash creams can actually burn the skin more, Vaseline simply works as a barrier to keep the pee and poop from touching the area. He should also be seen by a doctor for it. And sometimes what they are eating can cause it, I don't know his age but spaghetti sauce or tomato products can cause a lot of burning. My aunt is the one who told me about the airing out also and it did more good for my girls than anything else when they had a bad rash.|||If it's to the point that he's bleeding, you need to call the doctor. Generally, you should change his diaper at least every hour, use cotton balls and warm water instead of wipes, and use a cream like A%26amp;D or Desitin. The doctor can probably call in a prescription strength cream to your pharmacy without you having to go to the office. Also, Let him lay on a blanket or nap without a diaper to air out his bottom. Good Luck!|||My neice had this once; it was a yeast infection rash. He should be seen by a dr, and they'll prescribe an ointment for it.|||My son had wicked diaper rash every time he popped a tooth. It was awful, I tried all the different brands.

The pediatrician said to do this:

1. Wash the area completely with a soft wash cloth and warm water (add baby wash too if needed). Do not use baby wipes, they contain trace amounts of alcohol and burn.

2. Pat dry with a towel.

3. Cream on thickly either desitin or balmex (the very very thickest kind you can find) as thick as icing on a cake.

4. Change baby immediately after every poo and as soon as you can with every pee.

Any wetness in diaper will make the rash worse.

Do not put any other products on baby's open skin. No powders, cornstarch etc.

Keep this up for 3 days, if you don't notice an improvement, call your doctor.

(also keep eyes open for fever or worsening of the skin...could be something else, like a yeast infection.)|||Burt's Bees has one of the best diaper ointments we have used. It smells really good as well. When my daughter gets a diaper rash, this takes care of it pretty quickly. I highly recommend it.|||I'd suggest taking him to a doctor if its cracked and bleeding. That may not be a normal diaper rash. He could have a yeast infection (especially if breast fed) Or it could be ezcema or psoriasis.

He may be having a reaction to the brand of diapers used also.

In m experience aveeno diaper rash cream works wonders.

Make sure you are using sensitive wipes, as other will on further irritation. He needs time to have his little bottom aired out, try laying him on the floor on a towel ( to prevent accidents) for a while.|||let him run around naked for a bit the air will do wonders|||When my daughters had a really bad rash we used vitamin e on their bottoms. We always kept a big bottle on the changing table and used it at the 1st sign of diaper rash. It worked better then any creams that we tried. Just prick the capsules with a pin and squeeze it onto baby's bottom. It's messy but it really works.

Good luck|||Take him to the Dr. It might be an infection. My son got a yeast infection once.|||my baby had a rash that bled when he came home from the hospital. the only thing that would help was plain old vaseline. all the other diaper rash stuff made it worse. after i put the vaseline on it cleared up really fast. just don't use baby wipes and let him get some air to his butt.

If the rash i get goes away with skin moisturizer and i'm not tired and feel good except for my elbows ache

would it be safe to say that idont have lupus?! My job is very phisical my title is heavy laborer, ihave tons of energy what do you think?!|||I think that you need to see a psychiatrist. You continue to ask the same question over and over. You are getting very good answers, yet you continue.|||Lupus can present itself in many different ways, but it does not sound like you have Lupus. The rash associated with Lupus does not go away with moisturizer (lupus is an auto-immune disease). Though, for myself my tiredness did not start to occur and become a constant until after my first flareup. Prior to that, I had tons more energy.

33 weeks pregnant and my neck has broke out in some kind of a blotchy rash on my neck. My skin and scalp is?

also dry and flaky. Is this a normal pregnancy thing? I haven't changed any soaps, shampoos or anything like that.|||Its possible you have broke out with a p.u.p.p. rash ( I don't remember what it stands for cause its been a few years since I had it.) It will go away after you have the baby. Or what I did was switch to Dial Antibacterial soap and used some benedryl cream on mine and it really helped the itching and cleared up a couple weeks later. Do not take an oatmeal bath or it will make the itching worse. Not to mention its a pain to clean it out of the bath tub. Good luck.

What can i use to fade dark spots from my skin that were caused by a rash?

Well I actually have the same problem. What works really well to fade dark spots is cocoa butter. It won't work in an instant but if you apply it day and night you'll definitely see some results. It has worked really well for me and cocoa butter only costs about a dollar at any drugstore. Also you can get your doctor to give you a topical medicine called mometasone (commonly used to treat minor skin rashes) which not only helps cure rashes but fades away the marks they leave behind. I'm using the mometasone now and it works like a charm. I saw results within the first week. I hope this information is useful.|||thanks for the advice everyone Report It

What are the symptoms 2 years after possible HIV infection? Itchy circular rash on ankle and dry skin and hair

Here is the real answer:

Any symptoms that people may experience early on in HIV infection (acute HIV infection) would occur 2-4 weeks after infection...possibly as long as a few months....that is when a rash is likely to form (if you experience symptoms, not everyone does).

After the initial acute infection period is over, people enter what is called the asymptomatic stage of HIV disease. Asymptomatic means no symptoms. This stage can last on average 8 years (without medical intervention). It is possible that during this stage, a person may experience unexplained swollen lymph nodes for a relatively long period of time, and it is possible that they may experience thrombocytopenia (a blood disorder).

This of course depends on the person's immune function at 2 years (how many CD4 cells are present in the blood). With greater than 500 (which the majority of people will be at after opnly two years), the POSSIBLE symptoms may include:

-chronic vaginal yeast infections (women)

-swollen lymph nodes (lymphadenopathy)

-Aseptic meningitis is possible but rare

-Myopathy is possible but rare

-Guillan-Barre syndrome is possible but relatively rare

Basically, it is unlikely that the person at 2 years post infection would have ANY major symptoms as their immune system is still strong enough to fight off infections/cancers.

An HIV test is the only way to know if you or someone else is infected. (The same goes for any STI, as many people infected show NO SYMPTOMS).

Hope this helps,|||Skin Cancer and Perhaps a lung infection.|||when you have HIV you get flu like symptoms except you keep getting sick, it seems to me you have a ring worm on your ankle and dandruff.|||The source below talks about hiv skin rash.

Underarm deoderant can cause a sore rash. What is the best deoderant for sensitive skin?

Some deoderants can cause damage or a rash in the arm pit for days. What do other people use under their arms other than the commercial deoderants?|||Use a lemon. Seriously, google it a bit or look into natural remedies.

.|||You might want to look into natural deodorants that use organic ingredients. If you tend to get pretty sweaty be careful which one you choose as some are stronger than others.|||Don't use an antiperspirant, some people are allergic to the aluminum compound. Use a product that is labeled only as a deodorant|||Well, you might be like my husband and be allergic to aloe vera gel. My husband gets those rashes on his pits when he uses a deoterant with aloe vera gel in it. Or it could be some other ingredient that you may be allergic to.

What do you due for and to prevent chafing and rash under the breast and skin folds?

Baby powder and don't wear your bra too tight around. Let the skin breathe.|||I always used baby powder.|||Once you have cleared up the rash, start putting antiperspirant under the breasts every day. It really helps keep it from coming back.|||guess this answer is different for men or women. if you are a woman, the best thing is a proper fitting bra. if this isn't possible right now, you can use powder. gold bond type ones are the best. i wondered what the best cure for the sweating under my breast was... turns out my bra didn't fit right.|||Try using baby powder or Gold Bond powder. Never use any kind of lotion. It will just make it worse.|||Baby powder always worked for me during hot days. cos it sucks up all the moisture and makes you feel 100%.|||Use Baby Powder or Shower-to-Shower powder.|||chaffing and rash are due to irritation usually a moist area like under the breast, folds, even our genital areas. The best way to prevent it is to dry the area either by increasing the air flow around the area, or by repeated cleaninng them up with soap and water and drying it up with towel. Air dry if possible. Then apply a dissitin cream or cream that prevents rash. Corn starch can sometimes do the trick. Just avoid it to turn into a cake which could be a rich medium for bacteria or fungi to grow.|||I use plain 'ol cornstarch from a box. It's cheap and it has no additives. I'm allergic to lots of things so it's nice not to break out in a rash from something I'm using to fix an already annoying problem.

Rash healed and caused small discoloration on my skin?

I bought this new pair of jeans and didn't wash it before I wore it out so it was still a bit stiff. A fold in the inside seam rubbed against my leg as I walked and when I took my jeans off I saw my skin was rough at the part it was irritated. I also noticed this happened from wearing a tight bra from the inner wire rubbing right between my breasts. The rough spots are healed and smooth again now, but it appears darker and looks like a scar. Any ways to get it back to my normal skin tone?|||When skin becomes irritated because of something rubbing, there are several things you can try, including:

Avoid coarse clothing. Wear 100% cotton fabric against your skin.

Eliminate friction against your skin by using appropriate clothing for the activity you are involved in (for example, athletic tights or cycling shorts).

Avoid activity that is causing chafing unless it is part of your typical lifestyle, exercise routine, sporting, or other activity.

Wear clean and dry clothing. Dried sweat, chemicals, dirt, and other debris may actually be causing the irritation.

Temporarily use petroleum jelly or baby powder as a lubricant on chafed areas of your skin. You can also use these agents before activity to prevent chafing in easily irritated areas -- for example, your inner thighs or upper arms while running.

Unfortunately, the discoloration of the skin is somewhat of a superficial scarring caused by the surface abrasion.

It will vanish as your outer skin is replaced with new cells and also depends on weather or not you cause more rubbing... which will prolong the issue.|||I have eczema and after i get a rash to disappear it usually looks discolored. it always goes away but it takes a few days. Why do I keep breaking out in different skin rashes?

Within the past week I keep breaking out with different skin rashes. Some in my hair which the doctor thought it was infected hair follicles. One on my neck which seems to be a large ringworm that I am currently treating with Tea Tree Oil, and it is helping. My hands, which itch and look like millions of little blisters, red and very swollen. Now I just woke up to find one on my arm near my elbow. This one looks like I came in contact with something. What is going on?|||The one on your hands could be scabies. Highly contagious.

Go back to the doctor...

These may be purely conincidental. But, be sure to practice good hygiene habits.

Peace be with you!|||Very Confusing Indeed .

How do we keep a fair and radiant skin without having spots and rash marks?

Also, make sure that you're getting adequate exfoliation.|||this has some great skincare tips for keeping yr skin toned and also issues on acne if needed|||Tanning Downsides

UVA rays may make you tan, but they can also cause serious damage. That's because UVA rays penetrate deeper into the skin than UVB rays. UVA rays can go all the way through the skin's protective epidermis to the dermis, where blood vessels and nerves are found. Because of this, UVA rays may damage a person's immune system, making it harder to fight off diseases and leading to illnesses like melanoma, the most serious (and deadly) type of skin cancer.

Melanoma can kill. If it's not found and treated, it can quickly spread from the skin to the body's other organs.

Skin cancer is epidemic in the United States, with more than 1 million new cases diagnosed annually. Although the numbers of new cases of many other types of cancer are falling or leveling off, the number of new cases of melanoma is growing. In the past, melanoma mostly affected people in their fifties or older, but today dermatologists see patients in their twenties and even late teens with this type of cancer. Experts believe this is partly due to an increase in the use of tanning beds and sun lamps, which have high levels of UVA rays.

Doctors also think that UVB rays play a role in the development of melanoma. That's because a sunburn or intense sun exposure may increase a person's chances of developing this deadly cancer.

Exposure to UVB rays also increases your risk of getting two other types of skin cancer: basal and squamous cell carcinoma.

The main treatment for skin cancers is excision — cutting the tumors out. Since many basal or squamous cell carcinomas are on the face and neck, surgery to remove them can leave people with facial scars. The scars from surgery to remove melanomas can be anywhere on the body, and they're often large.

Cancer isn't the only problem associated with UV exposure. UVA damage to the dermis is the main factor in premature skin aging. To get a good idea of how sunlight affects the skin, look at your parents' skin and see how different it is from yours. Much of that is due to sun exposure, not the age difference! UV rays can also lead to another problem we associate with old people: the eye problem cataracts.

Staying out of the sun altogether may see to be the only logical answer. But who wants to live like a hermit? The key is to enjoy the sun sensibly, finding a balance between sun protection and those great summer activities like beach volleyball and swimming.

Sunscreens or sunblocks, which block the sun's harmful rays, are one of your best defenses against sun damage because they protect you without interfering with your comfort and activity levels.

The SPF number on a sunscreen shows the level of protection it gives. Sunscreens with a higher SPF number provide more defense against the sun's damaging UV rays.

Here are some tips to enjoy the great outdoors while protecting your skin and eyes from sun damage.

Wear sunscreen with an SPF of at least 15 every day, even on cloudy days and when you don't plan on spending much time outdoors. Wearing sunscreen every day is essential because as much as 80% of sun exposure is incidental — the type you get from walking your dog or eating lunch outside. If you don't want to wear a pure sunscreen, try a moisturizer with sunscreen in it, but make sure you put on enough.

Use a broad-spectrum sunscreen that blocks both UVA and UVB rays. Ideally, it should also be hypoallergenic and noncomedogenic so it doesn't cause a rash or clog your pores and give you acne.

Apply sunscreen thickly and frequently. If you're not sure you're putting on enough, switch to one with a higher SPF. Regardless of the SPF, always reapply sunscreen after a couple of hours. Most broad-spectrum sunscreens are more effective at blocking UVB rays than UVA rays. So even if you don't get a sunburn, UVA rays could still be doing unseen damage to your skin.

Reapply sunscreen every 2 to 3 hours and after swimming or sweating. In the direct sun, wear a sunscreen with a higher SPF, like SPF 30. While playing sports, use sunscreen that's waterproof and sweatproof.

Take frequent breaks. The sun's rays are strongest between 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM. During those hours, take breaks to cool off indoors or in the shade for a while before heading out again.

Wear a hat with a brim and sunglasses that provide almost 100% protection against ultraviolet radiation.

You probably know that water is a major reflector of UV radiation — but so is snow. Snow skiing and other winter activities carry significant risk of sunburn, so always apply sunblock before hitting the slopes.

Certain medications, such as antibiotics used to treat acne and birth control pills, can increase your sun sensitivity. Ask your doctor whether your medications might have this effect and what you should do.

Avoid tanning "accelerators" or tanning pills that claim to speed up the body's production of melanin or darken the skin. There's no proof that they work and they aren't approved by government agencies for tanning purposes.

Trauma-free Tans

Even when you're serious about protecting your skin, you may sometimes want the glow of a tan. Luckily, many products on the market — but not sun lamps or tanning beds — will let you tan safely and sun-free.

One safe way to go bronze is with sunless self-tanners. These "tans in a bottle" contain dihydroxyacetone (DHA), which gradually stains the dead cells in your skin’s outer layer. The "tan" lasts until these skin cells slough off, so exfoliating or vigorously washing will make the color fade faster. Typically, these "fake bakes" last from several days to a week.

You may have to try a few brands of self-tanner to find one that looks best with your skin tone. Options include sprays, lotions, and towelettes, and they're easy to use. For a subtle, goof-proof glow, try one of the new moisturizers that contain a modest about of fake tanner, letting you gradually build up a little color without blotches and staining — or the smell that some people dislike. All of these options are cheap, too, usually around $10.

Ask a friend to help you apply self-tan to spots you can't reach, like your back, for even results all over. And be sure to wash it off of body areas that normally don't tan — like the palms of your hands and soles of your feet — otherwise, they'll just look dirty.

You might also check out salons that offer airbrush tanning. Airbrush tans may look more like a natural tan with more even results. With an airbrush tan, a salon technician will hook up a DHA solution is to a spray compressor, and spray the tan onto you. Your eyes, lips, and nose will be covered to protect them during the process, which takes anywhere from about 5 seconds to 1 minute. A few hours after the application, you'll start noticing your new, safe tan.

With both self-tanners and airbrush tanning, you'll get better results if you exfoliate your skin with a scrub brush or loofah before the tanner is applied. This evens your skin tone and removes dead skin cells.

And with both types of sunless tanning, you'll still need to wear sunscreen when you go outdoors to protect you from the sun's rays. Fake tans don't generate melanin production, so they won't protect you against sunburn. But the upside is that you get the warm glow of a tan while you keep your skin beautiful for years to come.|||try 'facial'. hahahaha

i get itchy skin rashes all over my legs each time i have my allergy called renitis. what will be the best thing to do?|||i think u should go to a doctor

Has anyone you know ever had skin problems through smoking cannabis i.e rash, itch, fluid build up?

my skin is in a bad way at the moment...someone has suggested it could be through smoking resin....i have about 4 or 5 spliffs on a weekend....i intend giving it up anyhow to see what happens but id still be interested in your comments...thanks|||try to exfoliate and moisturise you skin

This is something totally unconnected. It's totally up to you whether you keep smokin' or not, but I am 100% sure your skin problem has nothing to do with a few spliffs now and then!|||Beware! Yes! Some people are sensitive to different chemicals. I am allergic to milk, cigs smoke, antibiotics and other things. just because it does not affect one person does not mean it won't affect someone else. Take a allergy test at home. My nephew's face breaks out and he gets nasty boils on his skin from smoking cigs. They go away when he stops smoking. Remember! Everyone is not the same! I hope this helps. Have the best day!|||No i doubt it, not just cos of smoking resin, but if you have swelling up/fluid retention i would go see a doctor cos that dont sound like normal anyway, and if you have itchy skin , and a rash, plus fliud retention it could be cos of some infection, sloppy liver/kidneys etc. It could be down to anything. If you are itching like mad, maybe try some piriton (if you can have it) and see if that helps, sounds like a reaction to something and the skin gets puffy if you are itching and scrathing, it gets inflammed etc. If no better by monday i would defo go and see doctor, and if it gets worse before then call NHS direct to see whats going off. 0845 46 47 is the number, they be able to advise you better.|||Dont be cheap and smoke resin. Its foul. Get skunk and do it properly if you are going to do it at all. I smoked it for 7 years, and depending on your personality traits and genetics it can cause scritzophrenia and demensia, etc. I stopped when i started getting extremely paranoid, but the lasting effects are 2 years of terrifying panic / anxiety attacks. I wouldnt tell anyone to give up as some people smoke all their lives and are fine, and i crave a doob often.|||Smoking resin and tobacco has toxins in them, and it could be your bodies way of saying it doesn't like it. The toxins have to go somewhere. Drink lots of water, boring I know, but the more you drink the better your skin will be. Try bottled water it tastes better than tap water (Buy a 6 pack of 2 litres at the supermarket every week and take one everywhere with you). Lots of fruit and veg, wash and moisturise (Sun factor 15) your face twice a day, and try not to put your fingers on your skin, your hands touch alot of surfaces, or wash your hands more! Saunas are good, but if you want something at home, try a facial sauna for about £5-£10. Face mask once a week. Exercise, fresh air. Keep at it for a few weeks to see the difference, but keep going to prevent future outbreaks. If you are thinking about the cost? How much do you spend on resin?! Change of lifestyle perhaps!! When you have Diabetes what makes your skin break out in a rash and itch?

Well the rash is eczema, it is very common with diabetes. Your body is not getting the nutrition it needs because diabetes inhibits nutrient absorption and that leads to conditions like eczema and a host of other problems. Check the source below to help with your diabetes.|||Could be poor circulation|||It depends where the rash is. If it is the lower extremities, legs, feet, arms, then you need to take special care.If it's the feet, bathe them in warn or tepid water with super fatted soap, dry gently, but thoroughly wit a soft towel. A lanolin based lotion is applied to the skin. Not in excess though. Do not use vigorous rubbing or alcohol on your skin. Oh, soak your feet and legs for about 5 min. Wear cotton socks, avoid insect bites, scratching, walking barefoot, or using a hot water bottle or heating pad. these can irritate the areas more. Taking care of your skin can prevent serious skin ulcers, rashes which can cause localized infections. Hope this is helpful to you|||Like they said above.

Also, a little girl I babysat had this problem when she was using Novolog insulin. I've heard of other people being alergic to certain brands of insulin, usually the newer, prescription brands. If you use insulin, talk to your doctor about switching.

Also, have you considered some of the more normal causes, like poisin ivy, hives, mosquito bites or dry skin? Not very glamorous, but sometimes easier to treat.|||If you are on medication for the diabetes, it could very well be that. It took several tries for me to get the right meds. Here are a few ideas to heal the issue.

Cause

Although most rashes are not symptoms of a serious health problem, they can be signs of allergies, liver and gallbladder problems, lupus, bleeding disorders, nutritional deficiencies, and autoimmune diseases.

Rashes can also be due to the elimination of toxic wastes through the skin, or of an active immune reaction to an invading organism. Suppression of such a rash can lead to chronic disease states. Rather than try to suppress the rash, in such cases watchful waiting may be more advisable.

Caution: If your rash becomes chronic, forms a "butterfly" shape over your cheeks, or is accompanied by high fever and joint pains, seek immediate medical attention to rule out more serious illnesses.

Natural Cures

Diet: Screen for and eliminate any foods to which you are allergic or sensitive. Eat an organic, whole foods diet, with plenty of green leafy vegetables and yellow vegetables such as carrots, pumpkin, sweet potatoes, and winter squash. Also drink plenty of pure, filtered water, and avoid all processed foods and chemical food additives.

Flower Essences: Rescue Remedy Cream® applied topically to the affected areas.

Herbs: The following herbal remedies can speed healing: A tincture of equal parts burdock root and gentian root, the fresh juice of coriander, and/or aloe vera juice or gel.

Homeopathy: Useful homeopathic remedies include Belladonna, Sulfur, Graphites, and Calc carb.

Hydrotherapy: Hydrotherapy is the application of water, ice, steam and hot and cold temperatures to maintain and restore health. Treatments include full body immersion, steam baths, saunas, sitz baths, colonic irrigation and the application of hot and/or cold compresses. Hydrotherapy is effective for treating a wide range of conditions and can easily be used in the home as part of a self-care program. Many Naturopathic Physicians, Physical Therapists and Day Spas use Hydrotherapy as part of treatment.

*Purified water is essential for any hydrotherapy treatment. Remedies for Treating Chlorinated Bath Water offers clear instructions and recommendations.

Juice Therapy: Drink fresh squeezed vegetable juices on a daily basis, especially carrot, beet, radish, and garlic juice.

Nutritional Supplementation: The following nutrients can be helpful to speed healing: vitamin A and vitamin E (both orally and applied topically over the affected areas), vitamin C, essential fatty acids (EFAs), flaxseed oil, and amma linolenic acid (GLA). In addition, add half a teaspoon of baking soda to water and drink every fifteen minutes. Do this three times, and then every two to three hours for two to three days or until the reaction subsides.

Alternative Professional Care

If your symptoms persist despite the above measures, seek the help of a qualified health professional. The following professional care therapies have all been shown to be useful for treating rashes: Acupuncture, Ayurveda, Detoxification Therapy, Naturopathic Medicine, Orthomolecular Medicine, Osteopathy, Oxygen Therapy (Hydrogen Peroxide), and Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Is zinc oxide just to protect skin or treat rashes?

We are haveing a dispute over this. Many answeres. I have been told it is just to protect the skin. And then again it is to treat skin rashes. I think (desitin) has zinc in it but other ingerdeints that to the treating. Need help please.|||Both!

It is an active ingredient in many suntan lotions, acting as a mineral or physical block to the suns rays. This is what produces that white effect you get from suntan lotions.

It is also an active ingredient of diaper (nappy) creams. It acts as an effective barrier between your baby's skin and the irritating excretions inside the diaper. In this way it can help prevent diaper rashes.

Similar to diaper creams, it is also found in some ointments/creams for minor skin irritations such as burns or cuts. Zinc is both healing and soothing for the skin - see also my comment below in the antiacne cream.

It is also an active ingredient in some anti-acne and wound healing creams because the mineral zinc can help regulate the activity of the oil-producing glands in the skin, thereby helping to prevent acne. Zinc is also important for healthy wound healing .

Hope this helps.|||Zinc oxide is solely for the purpose of protecting the skin from UV rays.|||Welp I think it's for both. It creates a barrier against dampness but something like Aveeno diaper rash ointment can suck the life out of just about any kind of weeping psoriasis or other "wet" kind of skin irritations. I would know because I used it on psoriasis and it worked for both things. God knows I tried everything else then one day I reached for Aveeno with zinc and I swear it was like the answer to my prayers. I was desperate, did a ton of reading on the subject to find oatmeal and zinc are both good ingredients and it just so happens Aveeno has both. So the zinc will dry it out AND soothe but I prefer the combo to hit it with the double whammy.

Why does by skin break out in a red bumpy rash when I have been at the beach for 3 days?

I have tried 2 hours and less a day and no matter what amount of hours I spend on the beach, I break out in a red, bumpy, rash. If I am at the pool at home for 5 hours a day for as many days, nothing happens except a tan. What is going on?|||most likely it is the salt you are exposed to at the beach. It's in the air,, in the sand and of course in the water, there is no escaping salt at the beach. The crystalline nature of salt magnifies the sun's radiation and you burn much more easily.|||sorry to say....you are breaking out in a sun rash. I do it after....well...any sun exposure. It's an allergy to the sun. Don't you feel lucky! :)|||its called sun poisoning, and if you're not careful, it will come back every time, make blisters, or scars. and chances are, where it appears, you won't tan as well in the future|||I would certainly say its from the sun. The sun at the beach is much stronger than the sun around the pool. Do you use plenty of sunblock and wear a large hat?|||yes it cud be due to salty water in the beach...if u r not getting itching in any other place it cud be due to beach waters only...try avoiding the beach %26amp; see for sometime..|||you might have morgellons disease. google it.

Help required for skin rashes!?

Hi All,

The itch of it is unbearable especially after getting out of aircon enviroment.

Tired applying aloe vera moisturizers, Skin care lotions, seen doctors who always give chlorpheniramine but systoms persist for months.

What should we do?|||HI Kaipeng

Here are some ideas to heal the issue.

"Most of the problems of itching can be relieved with taking plenty of vitamin C sodium ascorbate or rose hips however the dose have to be fairly sizeable to work and does go away and sometimes hardly comes back. The dose for vitamin C I take, for my itch at the very least is about 5000 mg to 10,000 mg per day for only a couple of days and the itching never comes back, and I am referring to a severe itching, the kind that gets all over the place. Usually the vitamin C neutralizes what I found much later to be a fungus problem and hence, taking certain supplements such as vitamin C may help.

At the same time, I can also apply simple white distilled vinegar and soak the places where it itches as the white distilled vinegar also kills the fungus. Sometimes even living in a moldy house, like mine can really cause itchy feet all the time and as a rule rather than an exception, a simple remedy is applying vinegar, on myself, and if it is from allergies or a negative reaction to an unknown mycoplasma, sometimes taking a bath in borax or vinegar helps almost immediately as well. It is quite often helps that when laundering certain moldy clothes in a bleach can also help in some cases as well.

Apple cider vinegar 2 tablespoon plus 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda taken twice a day can also help by alkalizing, certain fungus which causes the itching gets reduce. As a clue: sweets, whether they come from fruits, drinks, fruit juice, etc. can also initiate itchiness. However certain fruits might reduce it such as cranberries. In general if I am caught eating sweets, then I know I have to take at least 5 times the amount of plain water to dilute the sugar buildup, which can often trigger an overactive immunity. For me it is not an overactive immunity, but a fungus often initiate this kind of responses which appears to be so, but are apparently reduced whenever antifungal supplements or home remedies are used.

Changing diet to be of higer protein from fishes (such as tuna, sardines, salmon) can also reduce some itchiness as the protein is broken down in to ammonium compounds which by the way is antifungal and reduces the itching. Of course I would try to avoid vegetable oils and oily food. Ammonium compounds, sometimes I used them to relieve itching too, to wash my arms or legs with 10% ammonium arbonate or 10% ammonium bicarbonate, if I wouldn't be able to find borax or vinegar, or copper chloride 1%-2% laying around to help relieve the itching.

my advise you you would be to check all your washing powders, fabric conditioners, hand soaps and any other houshold products you use to see if you have reactions to them aswell, you could be getting rashes whilst you sleep.

also for rashes the best cream to use would be E-45 its not expencive and really works! i get bad exema and heat rash in the summer so i use this and it clears my skin up well...

your still young and finding out what you can eat, be carefull for the next year and make a list of the foods you can eat, and all the foods you like...

from the list you will be able to find a comfortable diet... also try to balance out your proteins, fibres irons, and vitamins...

if theres certain fods high in one like iron, then you could take iron pills, they would really help.

the circles eventualy join together to cover a large area. it tends to be scaly and dry. sometimes it itches. it started out mostly on my stomach and chest but then moved to my arms and a few on my legs. help!ring worm has been ruled out. it is also on my back. and is very itchy there. the real odd thing is how the rash comes in just about perfect circles.|||I'm white, but me, my husband, and my son all get these. It's excema. You can get a Baby Excema cream from Walmart. It's in a green box, with a large tube. Baby Naturals by Oragel. This stuff works wonders on it.|||Urrgh! You have probably got ringworm. Is it possible for eggs to cause facial skin problems like a minor heat rash etc?

I may be imagining it but it feels like the more eggs I eat, the more red marks and bumps appear on my face! It's not serious or anything - there's only like 6 or 7 at the worst times. But because I have generally alright skin on my face, I thought I'd try and figure out why this happens from time to time. Only thing I could relate to it was an increase of eggs in my diet!|||Keep a record of what you eat and when you get the rash. It will help to confirm if it is the increase in eggs in your diet or another food that is causing the problem.|||Yes.

http://kidshealth.org/parent/medical/all...|||allergy to certain foods can cause minor skin rash, maybe this time, you should think of eliminating eggs from you diet.

Tiny itchy bumps all over my skin, but not red like a rash would be.?

For about three days now I've had this slew of tiny little bumps all over myself that itch like crazy. I'd think it was a rash but they aren't red or discolored at all like they're irritated, you wouldn't even know they were there really unless you look extremely close. They're the worst on my legs around my knees and on my arms. It's sort of spreading now to my stomach and back, and I just don't know what it is - maybe an allergic reaction to something?|||could be heat bumps... or have you started using a new clothes detergent? or new perfume? or eaten something out of the ordinary in the past few days, that could very well be whats going on with you, you could take some benadryl and it will stop the itching or some rub some cortizone on there... hope this helps|||woo hoo glad to know that those years in nursing school paid offf!!!! good luck hope it is no serious|||Could be just dry skin, but since it seems to be spreading, I doubt that is it. Most likely it is just an irritation, try taking benedryl, it should subside after a dose or two.|||may be it's an allergy and since it' up to 2 days i think you should go and see a doctor.|||it may be exzama or and alegric reaction. head to the doc just in case.|||It could be an allergic reaction a rash doesn't have to be discolored.Or it could be eczema I have that also and what tags along with that is an allergic reaction called hives I get those all the time.Hives are a bunch of little bumps on your skin that doesn't have to be red or discolored but spreads all over your body like chicken pox.Just go and get it checked out.

It could be one of those.|||He may have eczema. My son had it when he was a baby. It's not contagious or dangerous, but can be itchy and uncomfortable. You really need to let a doctor take a look at it and he can probably prescribe some cream or lotion to help clear it up.|||tell the doctor|||could be staph infection..|||Ring worm is pretty common also, are they round patches? Don't panic, contact dermatitis can look like this too. What kind of cream are you applying? This could be making it worse.|||Go to your doctor and request emollients on prescription.but it's a long process,no overnight miracles-sorry.|||slap the spot with some benzol acid|||Yes. He definitely has a skin condition, probably eczema. Go see your doctor for diagnoses and a proper prescription. Lay off all the creams and soaps until you get a diagnoses. Impetigo is quite contagious and appears like scabby crusts. See your doctor.|||For dry skin, use a creamy cleanser to melt away dirt. Leave it on your skin before sweeping it away with cotton wool. Splash cold water onto your face to clean and refresh your skin. Use a thick cream moisturizer to seal in as much moisture as possible and have a refreshing feel.check out http://tipsfromruby-skincare.blogspot.co...
