What is the quickest way to get rid of a skin rash from Laundry detergent?

Is there any creams that get rid of it quick, or oral meds., lotions, body wash? What else to do?|||ARGH! I have been there!! It's called Contact Dermatitis. Time is your friend/enemy. Obviously, don't use the detergent. Try Benadryl orally, the OTC coritsone creams are a joke, so if you can, as to get a prescription hydrocortisone. Also, ask for a prescripton for Atarax, that TOTALLY helped me out.





Otherwise, there isn't an easy way; fewer showers, gold bond powder, soft loose fitting clothes....call the doc and ask for the Atarax, that was my saving grace. Its's cheap too.|||Is the rash from the detergent liquid or is it from the clothes that you wore that were washed in it? Either way get rid of the laundry soap and take a shower with regular soap. Use some hydrocortisone cream if you have some and if it itches take an antihistamine like Benadryl or Claritin.|||Take benadryl and put hydrocortisone cream on it.|||Anything you use will make it worse. Don't use that crap with perfume in it. You are allergic to the perfume ingredients in some detergent and probably most creams and lotions. Rinse yourself off with just water. Run your clothes through the washer without any soap or detergent. Also it may be the ph of your water, You may try a few grains of baking soda rinse in the shower. , If it is soft, use a few drops of vinegar.|||Yes, you can take benadryl and hydro cortisone. You can also take vitamin C, a natural anti histamine and lots of water to clean out your system. 1/2 a gallon daily. Oil of Oregano internally and on the skin. Of course you should avoid the detergent. Be sure to try to detoxify your body and increase your immune system as rash is a sign of to much toxins in your system and or stress and or a low immune system. Oil of Oregano surely takes the itching away. And has no side effects. And the meantime be good to your self and do some fun things.|||As a healthcare provider I usually order a shot of Decadron and a med called Medrol Dose Pak. It is a quick course of corticosteroid. Atarax is good for itching. Benedryl will help, but causes sleepiness. I usually give Allegra. Avoid the cause...of course. and there are prescription strength cortisone creams...but the shot and the Medrol Dose Pak work quicker|||Benadryl by mouth at night, benadryl cream during the day. Unfortunately, that kind of rash is like getting a burn and it has to heal. So keep the area moisturized. Aloe vera would probably be a good choice. If it's particularly itchy or painful, you may want to consider the aloe with the painkiller lidocaine in it.





I find All Free and Clear and Purex to be the best to keep the rashes away. Also, bounce makes a dye and perfume free formula that is the first one my kids could tolerate.
