The rash appeared after he awoke from his nap, he is scratching it, and the bumps are all clumped together. One arm is worse than the other.|||Give him some Benadryl and rub some Caladryl lotion on the poor guy. Right now it sucks to be him.
It could be any number of things like an allergic reaction poison ivy oak or sumac a heat rash or any other list of things it could even be a food allergy. Get the kid some relief with the liquid Benadryl it goes in fast and lasts for 4 hours and get him in to see a doctor if it does not clear up by tomorrow. Poison ivy and oak can come in the air or off a pet even so he didn't have to touch the plant.|||prickly heat?|||Poison Ivy, poison oak, or poison Sumac|||maybe poison ivy....or oak.....

Scratching spreads rashes so you should put a package of frozen peas on it to stop the itching, and maybe buy him some calimine lotion to sooth it.|||could be a heat rash. Lots of beds get old and even in the hotels they have to be changed yearly. Beds hold the dreaded bed bugs unseen to the eye but living underneath
20/20 had a whole blue light story about bad old matresses with springs that harbor this rash on children. Check for allergies.
